Trupe Vocal is the only group of its kind in Portugal and with almost 10 years of professional career the Trupe is now one of the longest standing jazz groups in existence.

The voices which make up the group (Fátima Serro/ Kiko/ Maria João) have been building their own statute, their work being recognised not only in this project, but also in their own solo work, in the areas of jazz, blues and soul.

The selection of the repertory has, until now, fallen principally upon the great American Jazz composers passing through various styles, from swing and blues to bossa and latin, with arrangements by Fátima Serro and the colaboration of Kiko in the creation of lyrics.

After several years of activity having performed on stages all over the country and participated in a huge variety of jazz/music festivals, the Trupe released their first record, “We’ll remember you” (Ed. Açor-Jazz), with the participation of several guest musicians.

This album was considered by the website “jazz Portugal” as “one of the best jazz records published in 2001”.
